The Royal Film Performance™ 2012

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in 3D

In the presence of TRH The Duke of Cambridge, cast and filmakers

The Odeon and Empire Cinemas in Leicester Square were full to capacity for the CTBF’s Royal Film Performance on Wednesday 12th December and thousands of fans lined the Green Carpet to see the director and stars of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.  Sir Peter Jackson and his stellar cast spent over an hour chatting to the crowd and signing autographs before assembling in the Odeon for the arrival of the evening’s special guest, HRH The Duke of Cambridge.

The Duke was greeted by CTBF President, Anne Bennett, and introduced to the Trustees of the Fund as well as residents of the CTBF’s care home, Glebelands, and other beneficiaries.  He subsequently met the producers and cast of the film before settling in for a unique 48 frames per second, 3D projection of the first in the trilogy based on JRR Tolkien’s The Hobbit.
