The CTBF is the British trade charity of the film, cinema and commercial television industries including cable and satellite. If you work in one of these industries - as 250,000 people do - we are your trade charity. The chances are that you will hopefully never need to turn to us for help but if your circumstances changed for the worse we would be here to help you.

We give practical and financial assistance to anyone from the industries who needs it. We can assist with utility bills, household appliances, debt counselling and children's school trips. These are just a few examples of the types of help we can give. Also, our beneficiaries are not forgotten at Christmas and birthdays when we send a gift and a card. Find out more and read about some of the people we have helped recently on our Welfare Services page.

All applications for help will be considered from those who have worked, salaried or freelance, for two or more years. It does not matter what job you do or did in the production, distribution or exhibition of film or commercial television - runners, cinema cleaners, ushers, grips, make-up artists - we are here to help you. You may be sick or made redundant, having difficulties finding work or retired. All cases are looked at individually and are considered on their own merit in confidence.
