The Application Procedure

Who should apply?
The awards are open to new talent focused on working in the UK film and TV industry. It is a scheme that looks to reward people who have demonstrated determination and motivation in targeting their chosen career. The scheme also looks to help those whose careers have suffered set-backs due to unforeseen circumstances.

How will applications be judged?
The applications will be judged on both need and merit. Each application must be supported by two references from either educational or professional establishments. The applicant must give a clear plan for the use of the award and explain how winning will help to further their career.

The applicant must also include examples of their work with their application. Only typed applications will be considered.

What are the deadlines?
For the CTBF awards there are two rounds of review each year. In 2008 the first deadline is June 27th. The second deadline is November 28th. Applications can be received throughout the year and are pooled into nearest deadline.

In 2008 the deadline for the sponsored awards Including The Big 5 Award is March 31st, with the exception of the Channel 4 Voice of the Regions Award, which closed February 14th. For full list of all the sponsored awards on offer see 'Our Sponsorship Partners'.
