Football Fundraiser

Hundreds of keen footballers from the production and broadcast industry took to the pitch for a charity fundraiser at the weekend. (Saturday 14th October)
Competition was as fierce as ever at the Broadcast Fives tournament with over 40 teams battling it out for top place.
Qualified FA referees were on hand to oversee the five-a-side action at the Powerleague Centre in Mill Hill, London.
The event raised more than £3,000 for The Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund (CTBF). The CTBF is a charity that provides practical help and financial assistance in times of hardship to people who work ‘behind the scenes’ in the film and commercial television industry.
Gayle Gover, Director of Development at the CTBF, said: “This tournament is a great opportunity for the CTBF to get its message across to the younger people who work in the industry and we would like to thank Broadcast for generously supporting the CTBF in this way.”
This is the second Broadcast Fives event in 2006, established due to the high demand from teams who wanted to take part in May’s sold-out tournament.
